Meet the Author
A personal journey, shared to help others.
Written by Devon-based poet Paul Dennison during his personal battles with Parkinson’s, anxiety, and the loss of loved ones, Life in Rhyme became a form of therapy. He never expected to share it – until he realised how many others might find comfort in it too.
“Hello, I’m Paul.
During my journey with Parkinson’s, anxiety, and an ileostomy, I turned to poetry as a means to express and navigate my experiences. Writing became a therapeutic outlet, helping me cope with the challenges life presented. Through heartfelt verses, I found a way to articulate my emotions, fears, and hopes.
My family has also faced the trials of dementia, with my stepfather’s diagnosis, and we’ve endured profound grief, losing two family members within a short span just before Christmas last year. These events have deeply influenced my writing, adding layers of raw emotion and introspection.
In my collection, you’ll find poems that are candid, reflective, and infused with both dark humour and moments of lightheartedness. It’s my hope that readers facing similar challenges will find solace and connection within these pages.”
